GLORIA HOWARD AND V.J. SMITH FROM THE NORTH MINNEAPOLIS ROTARY CLUB: PEACE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION PROJECT
The purpose of the Peace and Conflict Resolution Project is to increase positive relationships and provide education and community education. The North Minneapolis Rotary Club has worked tirelessly to accomplish their purpose. They are delivering peace and conflict resolution projects to communities, Rotary clubs and other service clubs. Healthy neighborhoods are the key to providing peaceful resolution to conflict. They have collaborated with other Rotary and non-rotary clubs to host events and projects.

  • Broadway Clean Up Day
  • Peace Forums (two)
  • Peace and Justice Day
  • A Think Tank on these issues
  • Lowry Street Clean Up
  • Junteenth Celebration
  • Essay Contest
  • Stop the Violence
  • Hennepin 5 to 10
  • Penn at Commons Peace Bench
  • Shiloh Temple International Peace Bench
The meeting ended with our members taking a peace pledge to help end violence.

Spotlight on Lyndon Moquist
Lyndon been married to his wife, Julie for 25 years. Lyndon graduated from college with a business degree. He sold copiers for a number of years. As a young man he played on 5 softball teams and was a professional trumpet player for 15 years. He switched careers and became a Realtor. He works for Edina Realty. He became a manager in Edina overseeing 187 agents. When the Eden Prairie office was opened he transferred to Eden Prairie and manages the office here.
 
 
Happy Fines
  • Craig Blixrud – Brought Bacon Beans for Roger since he is abstaining from Bacon while on a diet.
  • Carol Sundet - Meeker – David’s birthday is today. He is coming back to Rotary in the next few weeks.
  • Jeannie Zetah – Ale was able to go sledding at Starring Lake. Moe was able to get her a pair of snow pants. Had lots of fun.
