New Member Process
The minimum attendance requirement to maintain active status in Rotary International is 60%. Also, an active Rotarian may not miss four consecutive meetings. However, A Rotarian may make-up a missed meeting by attending any one of the 28,000 weekly Rotary Club meetings around the world.
In order to join the ROTARY CLUB OF EDEN PRAIRIE (AM), a candidate for membership must be approved by the board of directors. Only upon approval can the candidate be invited to join Rotary. The prospective member must then demonstrate the ability to meet the attendance requirement by attending four consecutive "get-acquainted" meetings. During this time the prospective member is expected to pay for his/her meal at the Sgt. at Arms desk each morning.
The purpose of the four get-acquainted meetings is to give the prospective member an opportunity to experience Rotary before actually joining. After the four get-acquainted meetings, the prospective member is then introduced to the club as a new member. Thereafter, meals and dues are billed to the member quarterly.
Detailed information regarding the activities of the ROTARY CLUB OF EDEN PRAIRIE (AM) and Rotary International may be found in this manual. A new member orientation session may be held during the four get-acquainted meetings or shortly after joining.
