Speaker John Blaska: "How businesses can leverage integrative healthcare as an investment in productivity"

John Blaska is president of Everspring Health, a Minnesota based lifestyle, health and healing cooperative founded by healthcare practitioners determined to change the existing reality in healthcare. Focusing on the area of preventive, rehabilitative and quality of life services Everspring Health seeks to change the way we look at health and then change the way we approach healthcare.
Changing the landscape of healthcare will require that we begin by promoting wellness and enhancing quality of life as the core objective of healthy living. Utilizing a cooperative business model it is our intent to develop a community where everyone involved seeks to do their part in the pursuit of greater health and a better life. Everspring Health is an intuitive concept where healthcare becomes a partnered, integrated and personalized effort between practitioners and clients. Coach Pam Borton on Leadership and Coaching in the Work Place
Matt Crane introduced Coach Pam Borton, the winningest University of Minnesota Gopher Women’s Basketball coach who was a coach there for 12 years through last season, and Division I Coach for 27 years. Coach Borton had one Final Four Appearance with the Lindsey Whalen crew.
Coach Borton spoke on leadership, especially leadership at work, and leadership development in women which starts when they are young girls. Only 14.7% of executive leadership positions are held by women. Coach Borton is now an executive coach, consulting and assisting business and community leaders. She is a leadership consultant, and has a leadership academy for girls in grades 5-12. Leadership qualities can be developed and practiced at a young age.
There is a need to develop the next generation to motivate millennials. We must continue to recruit new hires, and continue to build relationships as the team of workers is led to accomplish its objectives and goals.
Coach Borton is President and CEO of Pam Borton Partners, providing leadership coaching. Dan O’Brien –“My Life in 3 minutes or less”
Dan, one of the All Time Greats, gave a humorous, spirited, brilliant vocational all on Power Point from growing up in Kankakee, Illinois to the present. [The bar for Vocationals has been raised substantially, and the “arms race” of Vocational Power Points continues a la Jane McGinty, Joe Stoebner, and now Dan O’Brien.].
Dan was born the 4th child of 4 children in 1950, and his dad died before Dan reached two years of age. Dan pointed out that Kankakee, his hometown was rated 354th out of 354 in a ranking of the best places to live – Kankakee finished last as the worst place to live in America
Dan’s vocation as a renowned architect with great designs has had a big impact in our local area and in the region. Dan’s style can be seen in structures he designed, including locally Eden Prairie City Hall, Flagship Athletic Club, Bachman’s, and Hopkins Center for the Arts. What influenced Dan to be an architect at an early age was a large Frank Lloyd Wright home in Dan’s hometown, and at age 6 receiving a tool box as a gift and building a desk and chair.
Dan graduated from the University of Illinois in 1973 with a degree in Architecture, and started a job with an architectural firm in St. Paul within weeks of graduating. After 6 years Dan moved to a firm in Eden Prairie where he was partner for 30 years. Dan has loved his work as an architect.
During college Dan coached a women’s basketball team and met a player, Mary, who became his wife ( best decision he has ever made!) They have been married for 42 years and have 4 grown children, Bridget, Maggie, Tom, and Molly. Dan has 5 avocations: his 4 children; Stages Theater (long time Board Member, and set designer); Day Care for grandchildren; Wedding Officiator (5 weddings: all still married, & 4 procreating); and Rotary (yes, Santa Claus, & long time Rotary International Foundation promoter, director, etc.). Bravo Dan! We are lucky to have you!
HAPPY FINES
►Roger Jorgenson, a/k/a The Master of Happy Fines, gave a classic, long happy fine, but a good one. Roger was part of the Rotary park clean up last Saturday, and gave a stream of consciousness classic starting with the first 15 minutes of clean up cursing as he picked up trash, then a description of all the items he found, including 5 baseballs, that ended with a drone that he will be flying next week.
►Mary Sherwood is happy another grandchild is on the way!
►Matt Crane is happy he broke the curse on Monday evening with a Wild victory over the Blues, after Matt this season was no Wild wins and five losses when he was at a Wild game!
